Riverside Park Paintings
1995 -present
The Riverside Park paintings fall in the middle of the spectrum of photo realistic to abstract. They are based on photographs, but take liberties with color and composition. Riverside Park, designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, is a carefully tended artistic work that uses landscape, trees, rocks, and plants to create the semblance of a wild terrain. These paintings portray my own wild desires as tree limbs reaching out for something in a deep, illusionistic space.
